El Bethel Student Ministry
Our Motto
Be Disciples…
Make Disciples…
Be Disciples… We believe that a disciple is transformed by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The most important thing anyone can ever do, teenager or not, is accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. This relationship with Christ begins with faith. We believe that accepting Christ is just the first step in the journey of being a Christian. Our first goal in youth group is to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Make Disciples… We believe that a disciple of Jesus Christ is compelled to share the gospel. Our second goal in youth group is to share the gospel with anyone and everyone around us. We want to do our part in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and make disciples of all nations. God so loved us that He gave His only Son. We want everyone to know about Jesus.
Our Youth Leaders
Our Student Ministry at El Bethel is led by a team of helpers, mostly parents, who work as teachers, discipleship leaders, and as members of the Youth Council.
Meeting Times
Wednesdays at 6:30pm:
We meet Wednesdays at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary. At 7:00 pm we have small group Bible study. These groups are divided by grade and taught by members of the Youth Council.
Sundays at 9:30am:

Curriculum
Wednesday Nights: We use Student Life Bible Studies for our Wednesday Night curriculum. Check out www.lifebiblestudystore.com/community to see what it is all about. All age groups are currently using The Community Bible study and will switch to The Character Bible Study in the fall.
Other Opportunities
Camp Caswell – www.bedotell.com
Each June our youth group attends Camp Caswell at the NC Baptist Assembly on Oak Island. Check out the webpage for more information.
World Changers – www.lifeway.com/worldchangers
Each July our youth participate in a summer mission project. Most often we participate in a project offered by World Changers (see the link above). We occasionally will forgo World Changers for a local, week long mission opportunity.
Winter Retreat –
Each winter, we take three days and hide away in the mountains of NC to reconnect with God and with each other. Each year we choose a different theme and curriculum to meet the needs of our students. We have covered many topics on this retreat including Purity and Apologetics. Our hideaway is located at High Pastures Retreat Center in Burnsville, NC (www.highpastures.org).
Llamas
We in the youth group call ourselves the El Bethel Llamas… Why? We really don’t know. It was one of those crazy things that come from developing community with a great group of teenagers. We llamas stick together. We study God’s Word together. We play together and we pray together. We work hard together. Most importantly, we love Jesus together. So if you are tired of being a lone llama, come check us out. But if you come and hang out with us, be prepared, you will most likely be called a llama. It really is a term of endearment. It means you are one of us. Our hope and prayer is that as we become the disciples that we are supposed to be, you will want to join us and be a disciple, too. Let this be your open invitation to come be a part of something bigger than yourself. Come join the El Bethel Llamas and come love Jesus with us.
